Concept
The current complex and threatening world events, wars, climate change, material pressure and digital demands and overload are creating enormous pressure on each individual and on society as a whole. We have explored musically and cinematically how this pressure can affect people emotionally, how they try to distance themselves and how they search for ways out and do not give up hope. The film depicts this spectrum in a bizarre form between analogue and digital: flickering uncertainty, crackling tension and rising indignation, suppressed frustration, fear and the urge to escape…
Panic attacks, the angry mob… it is a reflection on what this all-encompassing and increasing pressure can do to individuals and society.
Structure:
The tension that builds up initially, the steady passage of time, which feels increasingly dense, provokes grumbling, then an outburst of anger, spitting and throwing dirt … depressive reactions follow, culminating in a state of paralysis, compressed, dull sounds … a crowd splits, more grumbling, a fight breaks out … anger, destruction… then the energy is redirected and the film ends in a more orderly, dance-like world, full of hope, but ultimately with a question mark and the steady passage of time… this sequence is accompanied by scenes in which a young person builds structures that repeatedly crumble, but she never tires of rebuilding… tak… tak… tak…
